Privacy Policy
This service is a knitting row counter. There is no account, and it collects nothing that identifies a person. No name, no email address, no phone number.
Project names, row numbers, and any pattern text you paste stay inside this browser and never reach our servers. If this service were breached there would be no log to take.
What we never send
- Pattern text you paste is never sent. It is read and stored inside the browser, and there is no upload feature at all.
- Project names, counter names, and numbers are never sent. They do not leave this browser.
- We do not read your IP address or device information (User-Agent), and we set no cookies.
- We send no notifications and never ask for notification permission.
- Outbound connections are blocked at the browser level, so even a mistake in our code could not send anything.
- We do not use speech recognition. Browser speech recognition sends microphone audio to the browser vendor's servers, which runs against this promise, so it was left out.
One thing worth knowing: this site is served through Cloudflare, and Cloudflare injects its own visit measurement script into our pages. We did not add it, so we block the browser from running it and no such record is sent. The tag itself keeps being inserted by the edge, so we mention it rather than leave you guessing. No cookies are used.
What stays on this device
- This browser stores project names, counter names with their values and rules, pasted pattern text, and the undo history. There is no field that points at a person.
- Your sound, buzz, and keep the screen awake settings are stored here too.
- Erase everything in this browser on the home screen removes all of it at once. Clearing your browser site data does the same.
- On a shared computer, keep in mind that whatever stays in the browser can be opened by the next person.
- Nothing moves between devices. To carry a project across, export a file on the home screen and import it on the other device. That file never passes through our servers either.
Anonymous signals the server receives
- A step name (arrive, project made, counted, pattern added, share, first input), the interface language, a referral label we wrote into our own links (a short word carried in the link or the domain of the previous page, never a path or a search term), and the date of your visit to the day, with no time of day.
- No content is attached. Not the row number, not the pattern, not the project name. Adding a pattern is counted once as a fact, without any of its text.
- If an error occurs on screen, that fact arrives the same way. We send only the error name (such as TypeError) and an eight character fingerprint of where it happened, never the message, the stack, or the address. At most three per visit.
- These signals live in short term server logs and are never given to third parties. To cover running costs we may show Google AdSense ads, in which case Google may use cookies or advertising identifiers under its own policies. Ads appear only on the project list and the guide, never on the counting screen.
The knitting-gear links below the pattern box are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the store pays this site a commission. Your project name and row count are never included in the link.
How to erase it
Press erase everything in this browser on the home screen, or clear this site's data in your browser. That is the end of it. Nothing is held on a server, so there is nowhere to send a request.
Business registration details and a contact address will be posted here once registered.
